Everyone is after quick results when it comes to muscle development but the reality is that muscles take time to grow. Everyone has a different genetic potential to develop muscle mass so your goals must be realistic for you. The good thing is that muslce gains usually occur relatively quickly at the start of a training program, however they slow down once the body adjusts to weight-training. Most people want to increase muscle mass while simultaneously decreasing body-fat. This is difficult to do, as to gain muscle you need to be consuming excess energy (calories), where as for body-fat loss you need to be consuming less energy. Therefore it is important to pick one or the other and focus your energies and efforts there, rather than trying to do both simultaneously. Once you have your goal(s) in mind, write it down and stick it somewhere you can see it.
